Jerry Wiese moved to Las Vegas at the age of three,. He grew up in Las Vegas, and graduated from Rancho High School in 1984. He attended and graduated from BYU in 1991, with a major in Political Science, and a minor in English. He then attended and graduated from McGeorge Law School in Sacramento, CA, in 1994. After graduating from law school, he returned to Las Vegas, and worked as an associate attorney, with the firm of Vannah & Costello, and later as a partner when the firm became known as Vannah, Costello, Canepa, Wiese & Reidy. In 1998, he formed the firm of Williams & Wiese. He focused primarily on personal injury, medical malpractice, workers compensation, wrongful death, and insurance bad faith. The firm also had a contract with the Public Defender’s Office for many years, whereby they represented individuals in civil commitment hearings and parole revocation hearings. Before taking the bench in 2011, he practiced as an attorney for 16 years, with approximately 6-8 years primarily focused on defense work, and approximately 8-10 years representing primarily plaintiffs.
