Stephen Bishop earned a Bachelor of Arts in History & Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2002. He earned his Juris Doctorates from the University of California, Davis in 2005. He earned a Master of Judicial Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2022. He was awarded Judge of the Year from the Nevada Judges of Limited Jurisdiction in 2020, Volunteer of the Year from the Nevada Northern Railway in 2021, and the Certificate of Achievement in Judicial Education from the Nevada Supreme Court in 2016, 2020, and 2024. He also earned the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence, Intellectual Property, from Witkin Legal Institute in 2004; the Public Service Award from the University of California, Davis in 2005; Distinction in Course Work from the National Judicial College in 2016, 2019, and 2022.
