Joe Hardy Jr. is a third-generation Nevadan who grew up in Boulder City. He attended BYU for law school. In early 2015, He was one of 25 applicants for two vacant district court seats. After an extremely thorough vetting process, He was selected as a finalist in both seats by the Commission on Judicial Selection and was then appointed by Governor Brian Sandoval. He presides over a split civil and criminal docket.
